1 item, 3 ways

Last week I made the True Bias Marlo sweater, view A, which is the cropped view in Carson Cable knit. It’s a really fun fabric and I have been wanting a causal cropped cardigan for spring.

I found the pattern itself to be a quick and easy sew. It took me only one night to cut out and sew up. The only change I mad was to leave off the buttons. My machine was having a hard time with the cable knit and I decided not to risk the button holes. Maybe it would have taken me a bit longer if I had risked the buttons.

The Marlo is an oversized cardigan and I decided to go down a size as I wanted it to be able to be worn with both pants and over dresses. Here it is styled 3 ways

WORK

For those of you who don’t know I work for a brewery in one of the most rainy cities in North America. I find the office to be quite cold even in the middle of summer. So this first look is my typical day to day look for summer, jeans and a tank top.

I could easily leave this sweater on the back of my chair and toss it on when needed.

Date Night

Next up date night! This would be a great outfit for a cocktail and a movie with my husband. Same tank top, same cardigan, simply tucked into a cute mini skirt. Add some fun earrings and you are out the door!

Weekend

The final look I put together is perfect for a weekend. Maybe at the park with my 5 year old or a backyard bbq.

Borrowed a band t-shirt from my husband’s closet, threw on my favourite pair of jeans shorts and instantly fell in love with this look. I will be wearing this first hot day we get!

And there you have it! One quick and easy sew that will really add to your wardrobe.

Let me know if you try any of these looks!
