Zadie Jumpsuit Pattern Review

Hello! I’m Alissah from @alissahthreads. Lover of all makes that are frilly, poofy and ruffles galore. I know what you’re thinking, the zadie jumpsuit has none of those things. And you’re absolutely right which is why this review makes it all the more special! I used this gorgeous “Lillies on black” cotton which is the perfect combo as we’re moving from winter to spring in the US! It’s so light weight and breathable, which is a huge plus for Texas summer.

I’m a huge fan of florals but there’s something so chic about dark florals. I just absolutely love the combo of dark florals with the zadie jumpsuit. I’ve been wanting to sew The Zadie Jumpsuit by Paper Theory for awhile now but I felt like it was out of my comfort zone, but when I saw this gorgeous lightweight cotton on The Maker Studio, I knew instantly it was made for a zadie jumpsuit. So, I stepped out of my frilly puff sleeve comfort zone and I made a jumpsuit. I MADE A JUMPSUIT!

Let’s chat about the zadie jumpsuit more! 

Admirable pattern details: 

2 sleeve options – wide 3/4 length and sleeveless drop shoulder, I opted for sleeveless because Texas summers. 

Tie waist – no zippers or buttons! I will do anything to avoid zips and buttons

Deep pockets – my entire phone fit plus some! You never realize how much you appreciate deep pockets until you don’t have them

Small pleats along the waist front and back – the perfect detail to avoid bunched fabric

Wide leg hem that hits just above your ankle – I’m 5’ nothing and did a 1” hem and it was the perfect length! 

Neckline bias binding – such a clean finish

Size range is 6-28 (bust 31.5”-56”/ hip 34”-57.5”) 

Although I’m probably one of the last sewists in the sewing worlds to sew zadie, if there’s anyone else out there who hasn’t sewn it, I highly recommend! loved it so much that I wore it 3 days in a row!
